Contribute to the Parks

Park Legacy Fund for future generations

Many groups and individuals express an interest in contributing financially to the park system. The Indiana County Parks Park Legacy Fund was established to improve county parks and trails for future generations through the financial contributions of citizens and organizations.

If you would like to contribute to the Park Legacy Fund, please complete our project proposal form (available here in PDF format).

Through the fund, you may work with the parks staff to direct your contribution toward a project that is tailored to suit your interests. The Park Legacy Fund is also an excellent way to honor someone close to you or to celebrate a special occasion such as the birth of a child, a wedding anniversary, graduation, or special achievement. The fund is a worthy fund raising cause for school, youth, or civic organizations. Your group's contribution will create a lasting improvement that others can share and enjoy.

Indiana County Parks is recognized for the beauty of its 2,500 acres of parks and trails which are enjoyed by thousands of people each year. Your donation to the Park Legacy Fund helps enhance these special places for future generations.

You can make a contribution in one of three categories:

Plant a tree: For a donation of $50 to $100 (depending on the size and type of tree selected), Indiana County Parks will plant a tree in selected areas of a county park or trail. Each person making a donation will receive a certificate noting the tree planting, which will be recorded in the permanent log of the Park Legacy Fund.

Park improvement project: For each donation of $100 to $500 or more you can help provide a significant improvement at one of the the county parks or trails. Each donor contributing to a park improvement project will receive a certificate and the project will be recorded in the honor roll section of the Park Legacy Fund log. Previous projects include benches and flower plantings. Photos>>

Special park project: For each donation of $500 or more the donor will work with the park staff to select a special project which is tailored to the donor's needs. Previous donations to this category have been used to purchase playground equipment, construct a gazebo and add land to the park system. Donors to this category receive a certificate and the donation will be recorded in the special projects section of the Park Legacy Fund log. Photos>>
