In this photo, the last Pennsylvania Railroad "Hoodlebug" to operate on what is now the Hoodlebug Trail departs Indiana on April 18, 1940. Self-propelled passenger coaches such as these were often called "Doodlebugs" throughout the United States. The local variation of this term was "Hoodlebug".
